Achievements of the department of physical education 2012-13

 ORGANIZATION:

          After the formation of Krishna University, our college took the great responsibility of organizing the physical education activities on behalf of Krishna University. In the process, we organized three major tournaments namely cricket (zonal and inter-zonal), football, basketball, softball competitions for this academic year 2012-2013. The Department continues to organize intra-mural tournaments separately for the Intermediate, Degree and P.G. sections on departmental basis, which encouraged better and large scale participation of students in sports and games. 

The Physical Education Dept of Andhra Loyola College was proud to be the venue of South India Inter University Tennis tournament which was organized by KRISHNA UNIVERSITY from 16^th to 21^st January 2013.

 Football:

            I am happy to place on record, since the inception of Acharya Nagarjuna university 35 years ago,  where in 32 years of football  Inter Collegiate tournaments took place. our college   won the trophy for 28 years and was runners up for 2 years. Hats off to the university ALC football team, which won the trophy this year also unbeaten for the last 18 years in succession. BODY BUILDING: 

N.Bhanvani Prasad, 3rd Year MCA won the gold medal in best physique in the 80 kg category and was adjudged Mr.Krishna 2013 at Krishna University. Inter-collegiate Best Physique championship held at ANR College, Gudiwada, on29^th & 30^th December 2013.  L Rajyalakshmi of NSC 27 has won two Gold medals, in weight lifting and power lifting,  in 48 kg category.  G Anjaneyulu AET 7 won one gold in weight lifting 56 kg category and a bronze in the power lifting competition. N.Bhavani Prasad is selected to represent Krishna University in the All India Best Physique Competition to be held at MD University, Rohtak, Haryana.

 Hockey:

          ALC Hockey team won the first place in the KRUIC Tournament held at SRR College, Vijayawada for the year 2012-2013. I would like to congratulate the captain Manoj DGH-12, and the team Aashik DGH-17, Roshan DGH-13, Ajit NGH-16, Amit NGH-17, Basant NO-02, Ajay NP-01, Sanjay NP-02, Libin NO-06, Manoj Lakra NO-49, Sandeep NO-04.

CRICKET:

          Congratulations to the Cricket team which won the championship in the KRUIC Tournament for the year 2012-2013. This is the first time in last twenty five that we have won the championship. Congrats to the captain and the team P Nageswar Rao DO-63, Basha DML-36, K.Srinivas DOC-15, Sandeep.K NML-56, Niteesh NO-02, Varma DOC-18, Sai DC-12 Sunil Babu DO-19 B Nagarjuna.T DOC-09, Nitesh.G NO-02, Ashok.G AEH-21, Vinod.M DP-29 Rambabu.M NOC-19, Srinivasa Rao.G NO-50, Manikanta.K NOC-25, Praveen AO-32 Rohit AC-11. The prestigious EENADU Champions trophy in Cricket was won by Our college team for the first time in the last six years having taken second position three times. The NTR memorial tournament was also bagged by our Cricket team. I would like to congratulate every member of the team for having made every Loyolite proud, by winning three championships in one academic year.

ATHLETICS

1. Manikanta Reddy DET-05 won gold in javeline and Discuss throw.

In the KRUIC meet held at AGSG College Vuyyuru.

          2.       P. Nagendra Reddy RM-06 of Intermediate participated in the State Level competition held at Hyderabad, Kakinada in 100 and 400 mtrs.

Kho Kho

For the first time in the history of Andhra Loyola College, the Degree girls kho kho team was formed and they made the college and the Dept. of Physical Education  proud by winning 3^rd position. Congrats to the team and captain P.Krishna veni (NB-08), Durga (DB-16), Adi lakshmi (DC-09, Jhansi rani (DML-14), Mounika (NCP-34), Syamala (NEM-17), Sujatha (NEM-10), Bhavana (NVC-30), Bhavani (AML-20), Rajeswari (AC-63), Kinnera (AZ-17), Rohini (AB-28), Siva kumara (NCP-37).

Volleyball(Intermediate Girls)

The intermediate girls volleyball team won

1^ST place in U-18 State Meet held at Tenali, Nov-2012 and 2 of our girls namely

Shahara Bhanu – RMC-77 and Ch.Swathi - RA-93 were selected for ANDHRA PRADESH State team which got 3^rd position at the National level held at Rajasthan from 6^th to 11^th January 2013. Congrats to the team.

Selected for Nationals

1.    Shahara Bhanu – RMC-77, participated in U-19 Volleyball Nationals at Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

2.    A.Nandini –RA-85, participated in U-19 Volleyball Pykka Nationals at Kolkatta.

3.    T.Jyothi – RA-88, participated in sub-juniors volleyball Nationals at Kerala.

4.    Ch.Swathi – RA-93, participated in U-19 Volleyball Nationals at Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Volleyball(Intermediate Boys)

The intermediate boys volleyball team won 2^nd place in the junior nationals U-19, held at Rajasthan from 6^th to 11^th January 2013. Congrats to the team.

1. Baji RMC-76 participated Mini Nationals, Under 17 School Nationals, Under 19 State (Mehaboob Nagar).
2. K. Madhusudana Rao  RA-91 – Selected by SAAP Hyderabad for Higher Level of training.  He represented AP State in U 18 Nationals held at Rajasthan.  State Level competitions in U 19, U 18 at Mehaboob Nagar and Tenali.
3. G. Sivarama Krishna TH-55 – was selected to Junior India camp held at Bangalore.

Selected by SAAP Hyderabad for Higher Level of training.  He represented AP State U 18 Nationals held at Rajasthan.  State Level competitions U 19, U 18 at Mehabob Nagar and Tenali.

4. V. Pavan, TH-52 Represented AP State in U 16 Nationals, held at Karimnagar.
5. S. Ajay Kumar, RH-28 – Participated in the State Level competitions U 19, U 18 at Mehabob Nagar and Tenali.
6. Devatha Raju, RH-29  – Participated in the State Level competitions U 19, U 18 at Mehabob Nagar and Tenali.
7. A. Sri Kanth, RH-32 – Participated in the State Level competitions U 19, U 18 at Mehabob Nagar and Tenali.
8. Sk. Abbas, RA-89 – Participated in the State Level competitions U 19, U 18 at Mehabob Nagar and Tenali.
9. Sk. Jani, TA-40- Participated in the State Level competitions U 19, U 18 at Mehabob Nagar and Tenali.

Shuttle Badminton:

Our college shuttle badminton men team won the 1^st place in the AP Sports festival meet held at P.B Siddhartha Art College, Vijayawada. Congrats to the team consisting of K.Siva Theja DCV-04,.  The girls team also participated for the 1^st time and were placed 2^nd  position in AP Sports festival meet.

CHESS:

Our chess men team got 3^rd position in the AP Sports festival meet held at P.B. Siddhartha Art College, Vijayawada.

Volleyball:

Our Volleyball degree boys team got 4^th position in the AP Sports festival meet held at P.B. Siddhartha Art College, Vijayawada.

Basketball

Our college basketball team won the 3^rd place in the Krishna University inter-collegiate basketball tournament held at D.A.R College, Nuzvid. I am happy to inform you that our college softball team won the championship having been runners last year. I am very proud and happy to inform you that 25 of our students have been selected to represent Krishna University in the South Zone and All India Inter University tournaments. Congrats to all of them. I will fail in my duty, if I don’t mention that the Loyola contingent is the largest to be selected from any single college in the entire Krishna University for year 2012-2013.
