REPORT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
I am glad to present the Annual Report for the Academic Year 2013-2014
The Department of Physical
Education conducted selection trails to form College teams in Football,
Cricket, Basketball, Softball, Net Ball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Chess, and
Shuttle Badminton from 10th July to 28.July, 2013.The department had fielded
nine teams for Krishna University Inter Collegiate tournaments and our college
won three championships namely in weightlifting, Table Tennis, Volley ball and
2nd places in Football, Cricket, Basketball, best physique and power lifting
and 3rd place in women shuttle badminton, softball , netball and also “Mr. Krishna” title in the best
Physique category. On behalf of the department, I congratulate all the players
who made our Loyola Flag flutter high in the skies of Krishna University.
ORGANIZATION:
After the formation of Krishna University, our college
took the great responsibility of organizing the physical education activities
on behalf of Krishna University. In the process, we organized three major
tournaments namely cricket (zonal and inter-zonal), football and volley ball
competitions for this academic year 2013-2014. The Department continues to
organize intra-mural tournaments separately
for the Intermediate, Degree and P.G. sections on departmental basis, which
encouraged better and large scale participation of students in sports and
games.
VOLLEYBALL:
I am happy to place on record that our college
volley ball team won the KRUIC volleyball championship for the year 2013-14 after
nearly 10 years held on DEC 17th & 18th at ALC Vijayawada.

I am glad to inform you
that the our college volleyball team won the prestigious state level Yuvatarangam
championship organized by govt of A.P CCE at TRR Govt.degree college, Kandukuru from November 21st &
22nd 2013 .
In the prestigious south
india intercollegiate volleyball tournaments, our college was placed fourth in both parvathaneni bramaiah
Siddhartha volleyball tournament held at siddhartha college,vja from 25th to 27th
june13 and fr balaiah memorial tournament held at Loyola academy alwal from 9th
to 11th feb 14th. The dept feels very proud on their achievements.
TABLE TENNIS:
I am happy to place on record that
our college table tennis team won the KRUIC championship for the year 2013-14
after nearly 15 years which was held at KVR College, Nandigama on 02nd and 03rd
dec 2013. Congrats to the team and captain T.Gopi srinivas AO-54, CH.Venkat Raj

FOOTBALL:
I am happy to
place on record, since the inception of Nagarjuna University 35 years ago,
where in 32 years of football Inter Collegiate tournaments took place. Our
college won the trophy for 28 years and was runners up for 2 years. Our college
team won 2nd place in the KRIUC tournament 2013. CAP Jamphel

POWER LIFTING AND WEIGHT LIFTING:
In the Krishna University. Inter-collegiate power lifting and weight lifting championship held at AGSG College, Vuyyuru On 3rd
& 4th Jan 2014. Our college won 1st place in weight lifting and
2nd position in power lifting. This is the 1st time in
the history of college we are honored with places in the team championships.
Congrats to the team members. L Rajyalakshmi of DSC-27
won two Gold medals, G Anjaneyulu NET 7 won 2 silver, K.Veera venkatesh
AEM 1 won one Bronze and 1 gold, Ch.Sai Nath NB-9 won gold, CH.Lithesh Anil Sai
NO-54 won Bronze, B.V.Sreeram NEM-10 won Bronze, A.Lakshmi Durga won silver in
power lifting and weight lifting competitions in different weight categories.
BODY BUILDING:
B.Mani Prakash 2nd
B.Sc NB-23 won
the gold medal in 65 kg category and was adjudged Mr. Krishna 2014 at Krishna University
Inter-collegiate Best Physique championship held at AGSG College, Vuyyuru
on 3rd & 4th Jan 2014. P.Gopi NML-3 has won
bronze in the 80 k.g category; Ch.Raja Sekhar NO-7 has won silver in the 75 kg category. The dept

Our college basketball
team won the 2ND place in the Krishna University inter-collegiate
basketball tournament held at D.A.R College, Nuzvid on 11th & 12th

INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENTS
Cricket:
This is first time in the
history of our college that a girl, T.Bhanu AML-71 has represented cricket under 19yrs & 22yrs in the Krishna
district zone and central zone competition held at Guntur and Kakinada from 25th to 29th July 2013. Congrats and all
the best in your future endeviours.
Swimming:
1. V.Sai Priya ACP-10 participated in the state aquatic championship
and won 2nd&3rd places in the free style event and also
participated at the nationals at Hyderabad from 10th to 14th
July 2013.
2. In the 34th junior aquatic
championship she won 3 bronze held at Vijayawada from 6th to 7th
December 2013.
3. She won 2 gold, 1
siliver, and a bronze in the KRIUC swimming championship held at vija on 12th
sept 2013.
4. She represented
Krishna university in swimming event at the all India inter university aquatic
championship held at PUNJAB University, Punjab from 1st to 5th sept 2013.
1. K. Prudhvi raju AO-35
participated in the A.P state school games under 19yrs held at Warangal from 5th
to 7th Nov 2013 and secured 3 gold medals and was selected for
Andhra Pradesh state and participated in the school nationals held at Pune.
From 21st to 25th Nov 2013.
2.Participated in the 37th
senior inter aquatic championship 2013 and secured 2 silver and 1 bronze medals
held at GHMC swimming pool secundrabad on8th sep 2013. .
3. Won 4 gold medals and
1 silver in the KRUIC swimming competition held at Vijayawada swimming pool on
12th Sep 2013.
4. He was selected for
Krishna university in swimming event and participated in the all India inter
university aquatic championship held at PUNJAB University, Punjab from 1st to 5th
sept 2013.
Volleyball
I am happy to inform you that M.Sharmila Begum of Andhra Loyola
Intermediate College, participated in the 59th A.P state level SGF
volley ball tournament held at Chiluvuru, KRISHNA (d.t) from 9th
December to 12th December 2013.
Sharmila begum is the captain of Krishna (d.t)
volley ball team which won the A.P state championship.I am proud to say that
she not only played for Andhra Pradesh state but also captained of the A.P
state team which participated in the SGF nationals held at Dehra Dune. From 8th to 14th Jan 2014.
She also captained and
represented AP STATE in volley ball, under 19yrs at the nationals held at
Kanpur from 29th JAN to 2nd FEB 2014
K. Madhusudhana Rao AO-55 is the captain of A.P junior state team volleyball
which participated in the junior nationals held at Dehra Dun from 8thTO14th Jan 2013
University Representation:
I am very proud and happy
to inform you that 28 students of our college have been selected to represent Krishna
University in the South Zone and All India Inter University tournaments.
Congrats to all of them. I will fail in my duty, if I don’t mention that the
Loyola contingent is the largest to be selected from any single college in the
entire Krishna University for year 2013-2014.
